Bhattacharya
Celebrates Second New Zealand Success
A
week after claiming his maiden title on the PSA Tour, India's Ritwik Bhattacharya
added a second New Zealand tour trophy to his collection with success
in the Royal Oak Open Squash Championship in Auckland.
The
23-year-old from New Delhi, who won last week's North Island Championships
in Whakatane to become the first Indian to claim a PSA Tour title, beat
Pakistan's Kashif Shuja 15-12 15-13 15-13 in the Royal Oak final.
Shuja,
a qualifier from Rawalpindi, was celebrating his first appearance in a
PSA final since October 97. The former world No49 withdrew from the PSA
on moving to New Zealand to coach some years ago. Clearly now reinvigorated,
Shuja has rejoined the international players' body and is sure to improve
on his current world ranking of 242.
