Shuja Shines In South Island Championship

New Zealand based Pakistani Kashif Shuja made up for the disappointment of losing in last week's final of the Royal Oak Open in Auckland, New Zealand, by winning the South Island Squash Championship in Christchurch as a qualifier.

Shuja, originally from Rawalpindi, was one of three qualifiers to reach the South Island semis. After dismissing England's Phillip Barker in four games, Shuja upset second-seeded Dutchman Dylan Bennett 17-15 15-11 15-7 in the final to celebrate his first ever PSA Tour title success.
