Weleily Spends 145 minutes oncourt in 2 days     [WISPA Draw]

Isabelle Stoehr of France put a cap on two great weeks for French squash. After Thierry Lincou defeated Gregory Gaultier last weekend to complete an all-French finals at the English Open, Stoehr held off a strong field of Egpytians on their home tuft, winning the Alexandria Open for the first time.

Isabelle Stoehr stormed to success in the final of the Women's Alexandria Sporting Club Open when she beat surprise local opponent Raneem El Weleily in four games in just over the hour to win the WISPA World Tour title in Egypt's second largest city Alexandria.

Stoehr, the 27-year-old French national champion from Chambery, overcome 17-year-old third seed El Weleily – who knocked out favourite and defending champion Engy Kheirallah in the semi-finals - 9-2, 9-6, 6-9, 9-0 in 62 minutes to win the fourth WISPA title of hr career.

"I'm feeling very happy to win today" said Stoehr.  "I knew it wouldn't be easy, but she was tired from yesterday, so I tried to make sure she didn't volley - especially from the back - by playing a tight game, making the rallies longer and really focusing on my length.

"I was tired a bit in the third and she played well and deserved to win that game," agreed the new champion.

"Finally, thanks for everybody who worked on this tournament.  Beating three Egyptians in four matches is good, as I almost lost in the first round - so it's good to win this title."

El Weleily, from Alexandria, added:  "I'm very happy to have made it to the final.  It was not one of the best games in my life as I was pretty tired, so couldn't give my best game.  But Isabelle played great today."

RESULTS:         Women's Alexandria Sporting Club Squash Open, Alexandria, Egypt
Final:
[2] Isabelle Stoehr (FRA) bt [3] Raneem El Weleily (EGY)    9-2, 9-6, 6-9, 9-0 (62m)
